Sam Schechter is an associate faculty in the School of Communication and Culture at Royal Roads University and is an instructor in the Media & Public Relations Program at Vancouver Community College.

In addition to working as an educator, Sam carries over a decade of experience working in government and politics, including one term as an elected city councillor in North Vancouver. Sam also has experience working in the not-for-profit world and as a private consultant, assisting organizations with their communications, stakeholder relations, and media relations needs.

In a volunteer capacity, Sam has served on the board of directors of three non-profit organizations and one of BC's two major political parties. He lives in Burnaby where he remains an active member of the community.

Sam has a Master of Arts degree from Royal Roads University and his undergraduate education was in business administration at Capilano University.
